Reading the title of this article, you may be wondering what the Cauldron is.
We have the opportunity to talk about it to newsletter subscribers, but I am aware of the fact that we do not communicate enough about it.
Let’s stop the suspense the Cauldron is simply WPMarmite’s training platform.
This is where students of Master Elementor, Become an accomplished WordPress freelancer or Finally visible thanks to SEO can train and improve their skills.
This platform could have been called WPMarmite Pro, WPPremium cooking pot or WPMarmite Training but I preferred to stay in the “Marmite” universe.
Therefore, what better than a Cauldron to deepen your knowledge of WordPress?
Now that you know the origin of the name, let’s dwell on the why and how of the redesign.
A new overhaul was needed
In recent years, we have given priority to the production of our various programs.
Indeed, creating a training course takes time, especially when you want to do it right.
However, the technical base on which the Cauldron was built was beginning to age.
Features also piled on top of each other. Which, in the end, led to weighing down the site.
In addition, there were a lot of interface issues and piling up bugs:
- the training videos were not well promoted at the lesson level;
- navigation between lessons was not ideal;
- the list of available courses was hard to find;
- conflicts between plugins produced bugs;
- unnecessary plugins were still activated;
- the order page lacked optimizations;
- the (tailor-made) theme was buggy and not easily customizable, etc.
I’ll spare you the entire list, but it was long enough that we decided to take the bull by the horns at the start of the summer. 😅
Clearly, a 3rd version was essential.
What changes with the Cauldron V3
If you haven’t (yet) pushed the door of the Cauldron to train yourself or you’re just curious, let’s take a tour of the owner to see what this new version looks like.
For information, we have moved from a tailor-made theme to Astra Pro. Elementor, WooCommerce and LifterLMS have been retained.
The home page
The home page of V2 had a big problem: we couldn’t find all our programs there easily! You had to click on “Training” in the menu or on the link “All our training” to the right of the title “Last training” to access it…
For V3, the “WordPress Training” page is trashed and all programs are now listed on the homepage.
The “Lesson” pages had several flaws:
- a side column that provided distraction;
- a video that is too small and not highlighted enough;
- different style buttons;
- a return to the complicated training index.
Do you think these issues have been fixed with V3? I tend to say yes. 😀
The “Order” page
Come on, I give you my greatest shame: the old Cauldron Command page. 🙈
- The title did not encourage finalizing an order.
- We asked for a coupon even before having entered our coordinates.
- We did not offer complementary products.
- The insert for entering bank details was hideous.
- At no time were we reminded of the money-back guarantee…
Afterwards, it’s my fault, I never took the time to do better. Finally, it is now done with V3.
The icing on the cake, each program now has its own sales funnel thanks to CartFlows. We had already tried an integration in the past, but it was quite sketchy…
There, there was a lot of work to set up. It should help us increase conversions as well as the average basket (which shouldn’t be complicated given the appearance of the previous order page!).
An opportunity to train yourself (at a lower cost)
There you go, you now know what V3 du Chaudron contains. Other minor changes have been integrated but it would not be interesting to list them all in this article.
Now, if you want to improve your skills thanks to the Cauldron’s WordPress training, I have something to offer you.
In normal times, it is possible to obtain each training individually.
Today, I would like to offer you access to our entire catalog (present and future) by subscribing to a subscription.
At the time of this writing, getting all of the training available would require an investment of €2,280 (if we count the programs in production, we would arrive at 2,629 €).
For one week (i.e. until Sunday, September 11 inclusive), you have the option of accessing it with a monthly or annual subscription.
Of course, the Cauldron subscription is non-binding, you can cancel it at any time (if you think you have progressed enough, for example).
If you are a freelancer, this offer is an excellent opportunity to train yourself at a lower cost.
Thanks to these subscriptions, you will be able to:
- learn the basics of SEO with Finally visible thanks to SEO;
- master Elementor with the eponymous band;
- learn the basics of CSS code with CSS Express;
- find more customers and generate more income with Become an accomplished WordPress freelancer.
However, this opportunity is not eternal. You have until Sunday, September 11 included to register.
See you soon on the other side. 👋
And if you ever feel it’s not for you, that’s fine. The free contents of WPMarmite are always there to help you. 😃
